Saturday, October 21, 2023, 8PM
Church of St. Mary the Virgin

Belgian ensemble Vox Luminis returns to Miller’s Early Music series with a program of cantatas by two of the Baroque era’s greatest composers, Johann Pachelbel and J.S. Bach. Known for its unique sound and artistic interpretations, the chamber ensemble (nine singers plus strings, woodwinds, and organ) showcases the stunning harmonies and emotional depth of these intricate and complex masterworks, including the beloved Christ lag in Todes Banden, considered one of Bach’s earliest and most important cantatas.
