This spring’s edition of Barnard/Columbia Dances at Miller Theatre features three world premieres along with a revival of excerpts from Trisha Brown’s 1995 spare and richly complex M.O. Set to the music of Bach’s Musical Offering, this work, by the most widely acclaimed choreographer to emerge from the 1960s dance avant-garde, will be staged by Brown company alumnus Stacy Matthew Spence. New works by Chase Brock, a maverick who choreographs for Broadway, opera, and the concert stage; Loni Landon, a hot young choreographer who makes highly physical, dynamic, and challenging dances; and a ballet collaboration featuring New York-based dancemaker Matthew Brookoff and Gemma Bond, a member of American Ballet Theatre and an up-and-coming choreographer, complete this rich and exciting program.
