The School of General Studies is thrilled to present a multimedia dance celebration and presentation of Body Impossible, a groundbreaking book exploring the concept of virtuosity in contemporary dance through the remarkable career of Desmond Richardson. Known for his improvisational brilliance and versatility, Richardson has graced stages with legends such as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Ballett Frankfurt, Michael Jackson, and Prince. In this special event, you’ll meet the author behind Body Impossible. Discover how Richardson, alongside choreographer Dwight Rhoden, co-founded Complexions Contemporary Ballet, launching a bold, virtuosic queer Black dance aesthetic that continues to shape the dance world today.
