Gregório Taniguchi

Tenor Gregório Taniguchi brings a vivid command of language to roles including the Evangelist in Bach’s St. John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Æneas in Cavalli’s La Didone, Miles Zegner in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up, and Septimius in Handel’s Theodora. He was a soloist in a Peter Sellars-staged production of Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien with the Los Angeles Master Chorale. He has toured Ecuador with the ensemble Las Aves. Taniguchi has worked with John Butt, Rubén Dubrovsky, Jane Glover, María Guinand, Matthew Halls, and Ruben Valenzuela, among others, and has sung with the Clarion Vocal Ensemble, TENET, Tesserae, Bach Collegium San Diego, and the Washington Bach Consort.

Taniguchi holds a B.M. from California State University, Long Beach and an M.M. from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
