Columbia Ballet Collaborative (CBC) is pleased to present a program of six exciting original and re-staged works for its upcoming spring performances. Founded in 2007 by five professional ballet dancers enrolled at Columbia University, CBC is comprised of students from all of the University’s undergraduate colleges and affiliates.
For the Spring 2014 season, Columbia Ballet Collaborative welcomes Constantine Baecher, co-founder of the international dance ensemble Cross Connection Ballet Company; Katherine Bergstrom, a Columbia University senior; Jeremy McQueen, a 2013 recipient of the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago’s Choreographers of Color Award who recently appeared in the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Die Fledermaus; Caitlin Trainor, director of Trainor Dance and a faculty member at Barnard College; and Michele Wiles, the founder and artistic director of Ballet Next and a former principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. CBC is also proud to present a re-staging of “Élégie” from George Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Suite No. 3.
