Part II: Iosis Night two features the evening-length work La Coupure, for percussion solo with live electronics and video projection, performed by Schick. THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY OCCURED IN A PREVIOUS SEASON! Co-produced with Works & Process at the Guggenheim Mary Sharp Cronson, producer U.S. Premiere A symphonic cycle of monumental proportions, James Dillon’s Nine Rivers is one of the most talked-about new works of the past few years. Written over several decades—and scored for a formidable assemblage of musicians and multimedia artists—the cycle covers a vast sonic terrain, from hushed a cappella singing to high-octane drumming. Miller opens the 2011-12 season with an ambitious, three-night staging of this important work, bringing together members of the original creative team with some of the best new music performers on both coasts. All-Access Pass: $100 Includes prime seating for all three performances, opening night reception with the artists, and closing night talk-back with the composer and performers. All-access passes go on sale July 18; any remaining single tickets will be on sale starting August 15. Additional performances: Wednesday, September 14, 8:00PM Saturday, September 17, 8:00PM |
